Quick answer

  • The best Hyrox nutrition app depends on what you need.

  • MacroFactor ($11.99 a month or $71.99 a year) is best for changing body weight during a Hyrox block.
  • MyFitnessPal (free, Premium from $9.99 a month) is best for simple food logging.
  • Centr ($29.99 a month or $119.99 a year) suits athletes who want an official Hyrox-certified training programme with meal plans in the same app.
  • Fuelin ($29 a month, or $99 with a human coach) suits athletes who want a person to guide them.
  • Prices checked October 2026.
5 key facts
  • Hyrox is eight 1 km runs, each followed by a station such as sled push, rowing or wall balls, so training weeks mix strength and running.
  • General trackers like MyFitnessPal and MacroFactor give one daily target that does not follow each session.
  • Centr is the only app here with an official Hyrox-certified training programme.
  • Fuelin has a Hyrox page and is the only app here with a human coach option.
  • Mavr supports Hyrox as a sport and plans race-day fuel around the eight stations, sized to your division and target finish.

A Hyrox race is eight 1 km runs, each followed by a workout station: SkiErg, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmers carry, sandbag lunges and wall balls. Training for it means heavy gym days, running days and full race simulations in the same week. That makes food harder to plan than for a runner or a lifter alone.

We compared six apps Hyrox athletes tend to use: two general food trackers, one training app with meal plans, two endurance fueling apps, and Mavr. Mavr publishes this article, so we also say where the others are better. All prices were checked on each company’s own site or App Store listing in October 2026.

What a Hyrox athlete needs from a nutrition app

  • Targets that change by session. A heavy sled day, a 10 km run and a full sim do not need the same plate.
  • Enough protein to keep strength while running volume goes up.
  • Carbs that rise on long, hard and double days, so sims and key sessions are fueled.
  • Race-day help: breakfast timing, a pre-start top-up, and what to take during a race of eight runs and eight stations.
  • Easy logging, because a tool you stop using after two weeks does not help.

For a sense of scale, the joint position statement from the American College of Sports Medicine suggests about 5 to 7 g of carbs per kg of body weight a day for moderate training of about an hour a day, and 6 to 10 g per kg for 1 to 3 hours a day. The International Society of Sports Nutrition suggests 1.4 to 2.0 g of protein per kg a day for most people who train. A good Hyrox app should move you around inside those ranges as your week changes.

1. Mavr: best for hybrid training weeks and race day

Hyrox is a supported sport in Mavr. It reads your lifting, running and sim sessions from Apple Health (including Garmin, Coros and WHOOP), Strava or TrainingPeaks, and sets carbs, protein, calories and hydration for each one. Strength sessions count as training, not walks, and anything labelled Hyrox is treated as a hybrid session. Protein is held at 1.8 to 2.2 g per kg so you keep muscle while the running grows.

For race day, Mavr spots the race on your calendar and builds a light carb-load, race-morning meal timing, a pre-start top-up and in-race carbs anchored to the eight stations, sized to your division (Open, Pro, Doubles or Relay) and target finish. It also gives fluid and sodium guidance that scales with heat, which matters in warm indoor venues. You can log meals by photo or voice and ask Kai, the AI coach, what to eat before a sim. There is also a free Hyrox nutrition calculator on the Mavr website.

  • Price: free trial with full access, then Mavr Pro. Pro starts from $5.99 a week, or $79.99 a year (about $1.54 a week), and the app shows your price before you pay.
  • Better than the others at: following a hybrid week session by session, and a Hyrox-specific race plan.
  • Weaker at: no human coach, no Android app, and far fewer App Store reviews than the big trackers.

2. MacroFactor: best for changing body weight

MacroFactor is a macro tracker that tracks changes in your energy expenditure and adjusts your calorie and macro targets in weekly check-ins, like a nutrition coach would. It has a verified food database and fast logging with barcode scan. It costs $11.99 a month, $47.99 for six months or $71.99 a year on the US App Store, with a 7-day trial.

  • Better than the others at: steady, data-led weight change, which many Hyrox athletes want in the months before a race.
  • Weaker at: targets do not move with today’s session, and it does not plan race-day or in-session fuel.
  • Tip: if you use it, eat more carbs before and after your sims and long runs, even if the daily total stays the same.

3. MyFitnessPal: best for simple food logging

MyFitnessPal is the best-known food tracker. The free version covers food, weight and exercise tracking. Premium adds barcode and meal scan, voice logging, custom macro goals and no ads. The US App Store lists Premium at $9.99 a month or $49.99 a year, and also lists Premium price points of $19.99 a month and $79.99 a year, so check the price in the app. First-time Premium users get a 7-day free trial.

  • Better than the others at: being free to start and very easy to pick up.
  • Weaker at: one daily target that does not know a sled day from a rest day, and no race fueling.

4. Centr: best for official Hyrox training with meal plans

Centr is a fitness app and an official Hyrox online training partner. Its App Store listing includes an official Hyrox-certified programme that builds power and endurance for race day in 12 weeks, plus meal plans tailored to your food preferences, with plant-based and high-protein options. Standard plans are $29.99 a month, $59.99 for three months or $119.99 a year on the US App Store, with a 7-day free trial.

  • Better than the others at: training and meals in one app, with a programme certified by Hyrox.
  • Weaker at: the listing describes meal plans tailored to preferences, not to the load of each session, and it is not a fueling planner for race day.

5. Fuelin: best if you want a human coach

Fuelin is an adaptive nutrition app for active people, including gym training, and it has a Hyrox page on its website. It sets daily macros from your training, suggests meals and recipes, offers AI food logging, and gives fuel and fluid guidance for workouts. It syncs with Strava, TrainingPeaks, Garmin and several coaching platforms. Autopilot costs $29 a month or $139 a year. Copilot, at $99 a month or $399 a year, adds 1:1 messaging with a Fuelin nutrition coach and live sessions every two weeks.

  • Better than the others at: giving you a real person to talk to, and it runs on iPhone and Android.
  • Weaker at: the human coach costs much more, and its homepage says there is no free trial.

6. Hexis: best for carb codes and detailed logging

Hexis gives each meal a colour code based on the training you just did and the training coming next, across a 72-hour window. It has detailed food logging with barcode scan, and syncs with Garmin, WHOOP, TrainingPeaks, Intervals.icu and Apple Health. It costs €24.99 a month or €129.99 a year on its website. We did not find a Hyrox-specific page, so it treats Hyrox like other training.

  • Better than the others at: carb periodization for athletes who like to log every meal.
  • Weaker at: no Hyrox race plan by station, and its system is built around carbs, with less focus on strength days.

When to skip apps and see a sports dietitian

If you have a medical condition, food allergies, stomach problems you cannot fix, a history of disordered eating, or signs of low energy availability such as missed periods or frequent injuries, see a registered sports dietitian. An app can help between appointments, but it should not replace one.

Verdict

For most Hyrox athletes on iPhone, Mavr is the best fit, because it follows a hybrid week session by session and plans race day around the eight stations. If your main goal this block is losing or gaining weight, MacroFactor does that job best. If you want a Hyrox training plan and meal plans in one place, Centr is worth a look. If you want a human coach, choose Fuelin Copilot. If you just want to count food for free, MyFitnessPal is fine.
